Happy To Do List

(most of my to do lists are tedious, consisting of chores, work and homework, and I hate making them. But the things on this list are pleasant little projects that inspire me)

1.VISION BOARD

Essentially, it's just a collage of pictures. But virtually, it's a collage that can transform your life. I think most people have heard of "The Secret", the law of attraction-- which means what you think about, comes about. But to be more effective, it is said that desires should to be put into one of our senses. Which is where the vision board comes in to play. Cut out various pictures found in magazines or interwebz that you want in your life. It can be anything your mind finds luring. A beautiful home, a toned up body, a fancy new car. Even unmaterialistic desires such as happiness, calmness, peace. After finding all the pictures, lay them out on a posterboard into your own arrangement, then glue them down. Hang the vision board somewhere in plain view that you're sure to glance at everyday. It's said to really work, and I believe it. Positive thinking, but with pictures. And it's an opportunity to be creative. I've been itching to make one, already printed various pictures. I just need to buy some magazines and a poster board!

2. SCRAPBOOK

Seriously, seriously. I have 18 months of scrapbooking to get done! I really love scrapbooking though, the old fashioned way. I've heard a little about scrapblog but not entirely sure what it is! My mom made all 5 of us kids our own scrapbooks from our younger years, and they are so well laid out, it's always enjoyable sitting around together and flipping through them, reminiscing all our favorite memories. I want to be able to share that with my son. So, I really need to get on the ball before I get even more behind.

3. WRITE

Although most of my time is occupied with mothering a toddler, being a part time employee and a full time student, my mind still finds time to crave putting simple words into a meaningful sentence with structure. I want to write something beautiful. I want to be published. I want to have at least one person read my words and spark an inspiration into them. This blog is a tiny step. My next stepping stone is to write a short story and submit it to the writer's digest competition.

4. DECORATE

My apartment has a few cute decor, but I want to make it more homey. I also want to make my own decorations. My first project will be to buy some wooden letters that spell my sons name and decoupage them with cute paper, maybe even add some buttons. Then hang them in his room.

Well that should be enough projects to occupy my "me" time with creativity rather than mindless tv watching. When I'm creating something, it relieves stress and leaves me feeling lighter and happier. Maybe it will work for you? Worth a try :)
